Spring - flowering of Cercis siliquastrum, commonly known as the Judas tree. Its common name derives from the belief that Judas Iscariot hanged him- self from this tree species after he betrayed Jesus. Flowering occurs in the Easter period. This image was made about thirty years ago with Pentax LX and 200mm lens, with Fujichrome Velvia slide, characterized by a high saturation of the colors of the vegetation. Thanks for your comments

Giangiorgio, this certainly is a change of pace for you. The Fujifilm certainly did the trick, as you mentioned. If any image celebrates nature's beauty, this one does. - - My best always, michael - - - Ciao!

Nice contribution to the celebration of the spring (primavera)! Mine is more explicit, you must admit that, Giangiorgio! Complimenti, amico mio! Ciao! PDE

Giangiorgio, I didn't say "better", I said "more explicit", meaning more obvious that it's a spring blossom and not flowers! So you don't have to take your hat off, ha! Ciao! PDE

Hi Giangiorgio, nice to reflect on the Velvia days. I used Velvia along with Fuji Superia print film before going digital. I have a Nikon Coolscan V scanner that I haven't used for years, should get back into it. ciao, Bill

Thanks a lot Bill for your visit and interesting comment. I am also digitizing the most interesting old slides, they certainly take up less space, and our children or grandchildren will have more chances to admire them, ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

despite the fact that you photographed this a long time ago, I can still see that this is yours. Fuji color film did have wonderfully saturated colors and you made good use of the film. The Judas tree vey clearly stands out between the other spring foliage. Kind regards, Vincent
