igla 25 Posted January 11, 2022 Hi Laurent, almost perfect, but the foreground is competing with the rest of the pic. For me this root is a bit too big, otherwise very nice. Regards DG. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 629 Posted January 11, 2022 In the eye of the beholder. I undertood Darek's analysis and came to an opposite conclusion. I like the size of the foreground. The proportions are what puts this in my favorite. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 11, 2022 Darek...Thank you for viewing and for the observation which I can appreciate as it sort of reaches my intent to show what our beaches look like this especially clement winter..I agree that pulling back some would have brought more focus on the whole scene including the lighthouse which I used as backdrop here leaving it mildly out of focus.I take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
FranzWeber 368 Posted January 12, 2022 Laurent, very nice classic image structure. Kind regards, Franz Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 12, 2022 [[show-photo-18667993]] Wayne...You are so right in that different eyes have their own way of absorbing any scene appearing in front of them.We are having a rather mild winter which results in our normally ice covered beaches being relatively bare giving way to unusual icing of the shoreline including any driftwood like in this shot. While walking the beach on this outing,I took several shots using the Lighthouse as covenient backdrop as the attahed and a few more which I am uploading.Glad you liked this shot enough to save in your Favorites.Merci et salutations-Laurent Link to comment

smooth 285 Posted January 13, 2022 Excellent composition and use of DoF. I guess you didn't go for a swim, Laurent. Best regards, Arthur Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 13, 2022 Arthur....Thank you!It was somewhat cold for a swim but compared to previous years,it has been relatively mild as this area is under a solid ice cap at this time of the year.Temperatures were around -10C the day I took this shot but have dropped to -23C the last few days.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
