vincentoiseau 83 Posted August 31, 2021 Hi Charles, greatly composed shot of this Carolina wren! Wrens are very quick, so I can only admire that you captured it in this (almost) free view. Good natural color. If the light allows it, I would suggest using a smaller aperture in photos like this one; as you know, I have the same lens and I have found f 8 to be just a tad sharper than the maximum aperture. The difference in background blur is minimal. This photo however, seems to have been made under darker light conditions. Well done! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment

ccabaniss 9 Posted September 1, 2021 Hi Vincent. Thanks for your visit and comments. You're right about the lighting conditions - sunshine had given way to clouds creating open shade. I almost wish f/4 had been available to me to keep the iso down. As you know, wrens almost never stand still in the open for long, so yes absolutely a challenge for photographer and equipment.
