Hi Vincent, thanks so much for your comments. I took this photo some time ago, around 2010, when I purchased the eos 500d. I remember nearly stumbling upon this heron which was standing perfectly still almost camouflaged along the edge a pond. It glanced at me then quickly focused it's attention on something more interesting :).
