Hello Giangiorgio: Thank you for your kind comment. I know full well the grain is overdone. I care not for the "pseudo judges" thet don't know how to literally "extract", physically, grain from processing an image with 35mm film and rudimentary developer and fixer....... I just wanted to re-live my dark-room days at 16, where I got a special taste for high-speed Agfa film and high-contrast Kodak paper. In retrospect, I may be a photo for myself, wanting to share it as if I had retrieved it from my prints from 49 years ago. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for understanding my utter purpose, to take the observer back into my rudimentary dark-room at age 16. "Thanks, and thanks. All else is mute" (W. Shakespeare). DG

Daniel, first a confession. Previously, I posted comments on 2 or 3 of your photos. At the end of the process, each time my laptop started to present "saving comment" as if it would be endless. Needless to say, the comments never were posted.

To begin, this image reflects your sensitivity in photographing homeless persons. (Sadly, many such images are exploitive.) It is starkly realistic and very gritty. In my opinion, the grain you mentioned is largely responsible for this appearance and atmosphere. Viewing it made me wonder whether these two men are acquaintances or friends who travel together or whether instead they are sharing the same temporary space. For whatever it's worth, my hope is that photos like this dramatize the plight of homeless persons and the myriad causes of homelessness. - - My best always, michael
