Wayne Sadler 630 Posted June 26, 2021 Often for me the world of the abstract and the world of the real, concrete and objective merge. Maybe they always stand side by side and I just fail to see it. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 26, 2021 I agree with your comments about the abstract and the concrete. I'm always interested in discussions on how we see and how that is translated into a photo. The problem is that we arrange objects in our field of vision according to subconscious, largely cultural, programs that we have developed over the years. These programs are replete with all the judgements and attitudes that tend to limit true creativity This to me is the prison that we must tunnel our way out of. As for your picture, I don't think it's completely successful blending the abstract and the real. To me the most interesting area of the picture is on the lower left, including the woman and the entire bottom left window pane. I think the area above with its sunlit brightness attracts too much of my attention while the real gold lies below. Link to comment
Gary-H 346 Posted June 27, 2021 I think this is a fabulous abstract, Wayne. The lady figure lower left certainly is a major focus. In addition, for me, the colors of the frame with the greens, yellows and red in the window are extremely complimentary. One of my favorites. Regards, Gary. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 630 Posted June 27, 2021 I agree, Jack, the lower left section makes a better composition. But the bright area dominated my vision forcing me to see the abstracted female head tilted back with red lipstick singing her heart out. Link to comment
bruckner 554 Posted June 29, 2021 A step into another dimension is always challenging into seeing physical or spatial properties of an image , this one works for me. Take care. Link to comment
