michaellinder 16,612 Posted June 10, 2021 This doesn't, in any way, look like any subway exit I've experienced. Are you sure about the location, Jack? I'm confident that this man is taking a leisurely walk in a park. He and his shadow look quite content. Don't know about the other 2 people, though. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted June 11, 2021 Hi Jack, the man emerging from the underworld of the Osaka subway is either deep in thought or the Japanese version of Orpheus, afraid to look back and lose his love forever. The exit itself has a quite unique look , that I. like Michael, have never seen before. The grasses and other plants lend an almost rural look to this scene, that is urban and yet not typically urban at all. I like the shadow of the man and the fact that the other people in the frame are all looking away, which makes the scene look even more surreal. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 13, 2021 Thanks Michael. A little bit of landscaping does wonders, doesn't it. This is definitely the exception here; most subway entrances are as colorless and drab as anywhere in the world. Link to comment

HermanRoes 6 Posted July 15, 2021 Jack, you have an unseen follower. My son. Having visited Japan and Osaka many times he recognizes places you photograph. Yet I love the black and whites of this exceptional country. Link to comment
