I think this is a graphically stronger image than the other, and it definitely puts out the “dry lake’ vibe better. I think typically the Master large format photographers of this style would wait for a more dramatic cloudy sky. In fact sometimes clouds seem to be the main subject. For example Clyde Butcher.

Thanks, Larry. Yeah, I agree with you about the clouds. It's strange to me now that I didn't put in clouds. It's something I do pretty often. I'll redo both with clouds. Personally, I prefer the other image. That doesn't make it a "graphically stronger" image, though. It just means I like it better. Thanks again for you comments and careful consideration.
