Now that’s a CLOSE UP! It’s nice to see the detail in the fur, which seems to disappear on all my more distant shots. The ones around here head for their hole when seen. How did you get so close? I can’t believe people use these cute furry critters for target practice. BTW, I saw one yesterday for the first time since winter began.

I have one that comes and visit my backyard. This one made its appearance in botanical garden. People got around it and offer food. It was not scared of us. I was maybe 4 feet away. I got another shot even closer, no cropping.

They seem tame/shy enough, but I saw video of one that was trapped. It would have scarred a Tasmanian Devil. Given the chance, it’s new name would be Fingerchuck.

What a great shot. Great detail. The groundhogs by me are pretty shy, then again I have a dog. It would be so nice to do this. He/she obviously trusts the person feeding him/her.

Thanks Brian. It just got out from the bushes to the open area and started to interact with us.
