This small shop was closed at a time most other shops were open, which is notable in a little touristic southern French town like Moustiers. It's not the shop I wanted to photograph however, but the evening mood in this quiet corner of the town that I have written about before. I liked the warm light and the atmosphere. Your comments are very welcome.

Lovely afternoon light which gives a peaceful atmosphere to the scene. The decorations with horseshoes and the painted little horse raise questions. Well done Vincent. BR, Arthur.

Hi Arthur,

thank you for your friendly comments! To be honest, the decorations you mention didn't raise questions for me; they are on a guest house and will probably have some meaning to the owners (maybe their family was into horse breeding, the Camargue is famous for a horse species). Kind regards, Vincent

A beautiful image that shows well a typical Mediterranean environment, excellent warm light, that precedes the sunset , and illuminates the grape pergola that frames the image. Among the many details, the rings on the wall to tie the horses, now no longer in use. ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for your beautiful and insightful comments! I didn't know what you said about the rings on the wall. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent , two rings are on both sides of the gutter about 1 meter from the ground, the third ring on the right edge of the photo. They are also frequent in the towns of Sardinia and were used to tie donkeys or horses. ciao Giangiorgio

Vincent, you’ve accomplished your goals well. The beautiful golden sun and accompanying shadows gives the perfect feeling that it’s almost time to gather friends of family for dinner! All my best, Mitch

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for explaining your comments further! I understood what you said, I just wasn't aware of the fact that these rings served that purpose. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Mitch,

thank you for your friendly and spot-on comments! The notion you mention about gathering friends of family for dinner is exactly the emotion that lead me to take this photo; the warmth of the early evening and family life. Kind regards, Vincent
