Giangiorgio Crisponi 496 Posted September 15, 2020 Only in the enlarged image did I understand what it is, but I don't understand the reason for this macabre exposition, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tom1909 430 Posted September 15, 2020 G'day Giangiorgo. Here in Australia the fox is generally regarded as a pest. Some (a minority of) sheep graziers believe the fox is responsible for killing their sheep/lambs - so they shoot them. A further minority believe if they hang the carcasses on a fence it will deter other foxes from further alleged killings. The fact that this particular grazier continues this practice, year in year out, probably lays waste to the theory. Apart from the confronting subject, I hope you liked the image. Cheerio, Tom. tom_kotzur 2 Posted September 17, 2020 ...what I don't understand is how one shooter could accumulate this amount of carcasses in a short enough time to the point that none seem to be decomposing. I tried to count them and it seems to be well over 100(maybe more than the herds that are being protected). Link to comment
tom1909 430 Posted September 17, 2020 G'day Tom. Multiple shooters (maybe half a dozen?), over a series of (late winter) nights, hunting on land (perhaps around 150-acres) that could easily carry fifty sheep, and as many lambs. My rough count - about 150 foxes on this one property. Cheers, Tom. Link to comment
