Slime Mold

These fellows were originally classified as fungi, mushrooms. While now they're classified as protista, single cell organisms. Something like huge amoebas.Well I found out that this fellow had crawled from underground into my backyard last summer and before it dried in the sunlight I decided to take a quick shot of it.These things are beautiful, interesting and scary. They spend most of their lives underground but from a chemical impulse they crawl up to multiply and die. Some people say that these things have even minor intelligence.
