Giangiorgio Crisponi 503 Posted May 10, 2020 A wonderful image.. The blur of the wheels of the mill renders the movement well and makes us understand that it is still in operation, as well says the title, an image of the past still present. ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted May 10, 2020 I wish I knew where you shot this photograph, DG. This might have given me a better chance of identifying the era in which the objects the image captures were built. No problem, though - - I'll just deal with what I see. As the title indicates, wheels have been used since the fourth century BCE (before the common era). The wheels in the scene were placed on a downward incline so that gravity would assist them in transporting water which, very likely, ended up in the pool shown in the middle left area. Kudos to the persons who were involved in both its conception and construction. By means of this image, you have presented the device as a history lesson. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
