In a classic car show I saw this beautiful Pontiac Silver Streak from the late forties of the 20th century. It was too busy to get a clean shot of the car, so I decided to photograph the details. I like the surface of the car and the weathered lettering. Your comments are very welcome.

A beautiful image with a retro mood, Vincent! Well captured with reflections! I like it, Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Vincent, I take it that the car show was outdoors, since I can see faint, somewhat undefined reflections of both people and the sky in the car's surface. As it turns out, this is one of the image's strong elements. But, it's clearly the emblem that's the star of this show. Viewing it, I was compelled to do some internet research. As it turns out, this emblem is the result of evolution of Pontiac vehicles, starting in the 1930s. Then, the "silver streak" was a length of chrome ending with the head of Chief Pontiac. I am grateful to you for encouraging me to learn more about Pontiac's history, especially since I occasionally drove a Bonneville during my early college years. - - My best always, michael

Hi Tatiana,

thank you for your friendly comment! It's just the lettering against the reflections that inspired me. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Michael,

I envy you for having driven a car like the Pontiac Bonneville, although I must say the first car I ever drove (as a child) was my uncle's sixties Pontiac Firebird. All of this communication is brought about by the lettering on the car in the photo; what a wonderful coincidence. Thank you for your comments! Kind regards, Vincent

Silver Streak, indeed, as the logo seems to be streaking across the reflected crowds walking by. The colors and tones here are excellent, combining the real with the abstract in a most appealing fashion.

Hi ZT,

thank you for your refreshing comment! I wanted to get the most out of the reflection obviously; your interpretation of 'illusion of movement' is a greater compliment than I expected. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Jack,

thank you for your great comment! You have interpreted my photo most artistically, with an emphasis on the combination of reality and abstraction, which I like very much. Kind regards, Vincent
