Dark Semois

Early morning in Poupehan (close to Bouillon), Belgium. The river Semois flows from the Ardennes into the great Meuse river and is about 190 km long. This photo was made on a very gloomy day; at first sight you could think this is a B & W photo. Your comments are very welcome.

Vincent, this image atmospheric both in appearance and feel. Quite honestly, I never though of it as a b&w, since a close look brought me to the subdued greens of the trees and foliage, and also the pink of flowers coated toward the bottom left. What the photo demonstrates to me is that this is a paradigm case of less being better than more, especially when it comes to the subtle tonality and sharpness. Simply brilliant work. - - My best always, michael
