michaellinder 16,612 Posted July 4, 2019 I shot this through a window of a moving bus on the tiny island of St. Kitts, located in the eastern Caribbean. The tour guide mentioned that the shack depicted in this image was the first attempt by the St. Kitts government to provide free housing for the poor. I learned during this trip that the island is quite typical of others throughout the Caribbean area., namely, a glaring example of housing illustrating social extremes. Link to comment
gregverena 342 Posted July 4, 2019 Michael, not unlike, size-wise,the "tiny houses" in mode today. Certainly better than being homeless, but maintenance must be taken into account. Of course, social extremes in housing is not unique to the Caribbean. Very interesting series- looks like you're enjoying your trip! Link to comment
patrickcompagnucci 30 Posted July 5, 2019 Interesting shot Michael. We were in St. Kitts a few years back, but I missed this one. It's a great island, we really enjoyed our stay. Nice and laid back. Regards, Patrick Link to comment
