hstelljes 41 Posted April 29, 2019 When a storm approaches and it's high tide this place is a little scary. Your thoughts and comments are most welcome, thanks for looking. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 30, 2019 Holger..Good scene with the multi curves of the road, the beach and the kinked out windbreak fence which enhances the shot.In this area,we don't much use these for sand as our roads are generally farther away from our beachsides;we refer to these as snowfences as they are/were used mostly along highways in winter for much the same reason as the one in your photo.Good work!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 30, 2019 Hi Gary, Thanks for your comment. This is located at Cliffwood Beach, NJ near Keyport on the Raritan Bay. We can see Staten Island, Brooklynn and other NYC sights on clear days. See you soon..................Holger Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 30, 2019 Greetings Laurent, Thank you for your interesting comment on this image and where the fences are used by you. I just realized the color on this image is off, I'm in the process of getting a new computer and used a different one for this to keep my hand in at Photonet, sorry about that folks. See you soon Laurent...............Holger Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 30, 2019 Good one, Holger. I like the overall tone and composition of the piece and especially the contrast between the half-buried section of wooden fencing and the the curve of the road with its sleek, low slung guardrail. The water on the road is a nice ironic touch as if it's laughing at such flimsy barriers. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 30, 2019 Great to hear from you Jack, your comment is spot on, especially the last line. When Hurricane Sandy hit this area a few years back this was all underwater and the power poles were down. Thanks for your visit, see you soon..............................Holger Link to comment
tai 3 Posted May 1, 2019 Wonderful shot, Holger! Very interesting captured. As if you were using distortion tools. I like this smiling road (reflection) plus colors. Bravo!!! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 1, 2019 Tatiana thank you for the very kind comment. I am delighted with the image in general but very disappointed in the over saturated color of the sand. My friends here at PN have been very kind not to mention it, but I see it and almost took the image down but comments were posted so I left it. Thank you again and see you soon.......Holger Link to comment
tai 3 Posted May 2, 2019 Dear Holger, I want to continue because my previous comment was interrupted by my loved ones who criticized my nightly contact with Photo.net. This yellow sand doesn’t bother me at all. On the contrary, it reinforces the overall result along with a sense of geometric distortion. Once again, Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 2, 2019 Well thank you Tatiana, I see that your perspective, perhaps coming from abstract thought, allows you the insight for such a comment. I'm very glad you see it that way because it made my effort worthwhile. See you soon my friend......................Holger Link to comment

wolfgangarnold 142 Posted May 5, 2019 I like how shoreline and street seem touch and then bend away from each other while the reflected sky in the puddle is connecting them. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 5, 2019 Thank you for your comment and visit Wolfgang, much appreciated. The curvature is what I wanted to display, how near the water is. As you can imagine when a storm approaches and it's high tide the area floods and the road is closed, fortunately it is not to often. See you soon................Holger Link to comment
