peta 0 Posted December 2, 2003 Jim, indeed a majestic rendering, and the tonings are fantastic! Congrats! Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted December 3, 2003 This is very nice work Jim. I admire your tenacity; almost thirty years from the original exposures and then to produce such a fine image. Timeless. Regards. Link to comment
baldurbirgis 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Hi Jim, your technique is like being invited to the past or the future by time machine. Great work. Link to comment
peggy_jones 0 Posted December 8, 2003 among other things, the right 20% desperately needs cropping and the left corner resembles lens shade vignetting. but the more I look at this, the more the jaundiced color cast sickens me. and no, I don't buy that as some intended "artist's affect" for a moment. nor does the image convey what's intended about working at sea, except perhaps sea-sickness. this is nothing more than an above-average, pedestrian montage that needs to be redone with Jim's more experienced and finer hand. marschant_escorcio 0 Posted December 10, 2003 I think Peggy needs to crop the top 20% of her body, and frankly her comments make me sea-sick, how about showing us some of your work Peggy ? Link to comment

peggy_jones 0 Posted December 10, 2003 sorry, I must apologize for the manner in how I presented my earlier comment, but my opinion of the photo stands. as for not presenting photos, well, my late husband was the photographer (and an accomplished amateur) and I was his toughest critic! by the standard some expect, the world would be sorely lacking in critics of music, theater, film, dance, sculpture, painting, architecture, and the like if critics who love those arts as much as I do photography were all expected to also be practitioners, let alone accomplished ones. alberto.conde 0 Posted December 12, 2003 Peggy might be right about the need for critiques... but regarding her use of the term pedestrian for this wonderful image I think is going beyoond artistic criticism and entering plain rudeness. Besides, I am a keen photographer myself (daring to show my amateurish attempts at this art). I am, as well, a fanatic sea lover with some thousands of miles of sailing, stevedoring, and chartering hurting my back and, finally, a keen armchair sailor and a keen amateur of PS fiddling. With this background I dare to tell Jimm that here he accomplished very well what he wanted to accomplish 20 years back.Well done! Link to comment

jeremy brotherton 0 Posted July 13, 2004 I think sir this is very amazing. I really like how well this turned out. And the years you had to wait to do this I think proved worth it. Don't you? Link to comment
ron c sunshine coast, qld,a 0 Posted November 1, 2004 A potentially awsome image but those clumsily applied soft/blured areas detract too much Link to comment
