Is there a bigger story behind it? Maybe that's all she left behind. Kind a sad but it could be fun also. You can see it with too many stories.

I'm guessing the bride may have left the groom at the altar. Otherwise, I'd expect him to be present for this photo opportunity. Enough frivolity . . . I really am charmed by how the bridal veil in its somewhat chaotic state disrupts the other, much more orderly, elements (the wheels, spokes, chain., etc., of the bicycle and the horizontals on the door).

Hi Jack,

by neatly presenting the background and the bicycle itself tightly parked against a garage door, all the attention goes to the collection of plastic bags on the handlebar of the bike that indeed resembles the cloth used in bridal dresses. I had to look several times to make sure I saw this correctly. That goes to show even a mere hint at a different interpretation can be very powerful and overtake our perception. Very well seen! Kind regards, Vincent

YES!! Hello dear Jack. You have kept us waiting a bit too long, but the wait has been worth it when one looks at this "ballerina bike". Unmistakeably yours. It pops up like a flare in the dark night with your exqusite signatuyre all over it. And a dance indeed and feast for the eyes, with the stark counterpoint between the complete opposites, the straight lines, and the perfect circles, with the diagonals making everything actually dance! The sharpness and color are exceptional. Ah.....plenty satisfied to see this image of yours. Best personal regards. DG

Daniel - Yes, indeed, I have returned from my self-imposed exile. This site has evolved to something of an all words /no words creature, more forum than photo. I guess the PN I knew in the past when the feeling of community was always very much present and every day brought new photographic inspiration and intelligent and personal commentary now lives on only in memory. I got a comment from Tero P., an old member who hadn't been around for several years he said "...photonet is like a funeral home nowadays or have I missed something relevant here? There's something like 20 new pics a day and very rarely comments on them." It really is a shame that so few people have the time and/or inclination to post pictures or comments anymore. Enough about that. By the way, I sent you an e-mail about a month ago in response to your query about how I was doing but I got no further response. I'm wondering if you ever received it which is something I've had trouble with in the past. Let me know. Best regards, Jack

Tero. Franz, Michael, Vincent, Stephanie - Thanks for the always welcome comments. I'm a bit rejuvenated after my "vacation" so I guess you'll be seeing more of me in the days to come. One never knows what one will find on one's little photo safaris. One will always encounter a strange beast or two and on occasion one will have one's mind righteously blown.

I have seen a lot in my life, but I must admit that I can see jellyfish on a parked bike for first time, ... nice to see you again ....
