Holger, I like this one, though I think I like it better in light of the title than I might without. The out of focus foreground might be off-putting without the title to give perceptual meaning to the composition. Otherwise, a nicely detailed and very well composed image. The B&W processing is spot on. TFS

Holger, if I remember correctly, you have posted other beach/shoreline photos also involving picket fences that seem to collapse without much effort. Here, the section that has a concave appearance, more clearly than the rest of the fence, shows where it's been placed beneath the surface. This image far exceeds the description of "just another pretty beach photo." The OOF area David mentioned is at least partially abstract. Also, the entire image contains an effective balance of human-made and natural elements. I get the feeling tat the original color version didn't;t have the punch this one has. - - My best always, michael

Hi Holger,

this is indeed off balance. The straight horizon clearly shows the seemingly random inclination of the collapsing fence, the trees that grow in the other direction and the partially out-of-focus beam in between. I like the conversion to B&W. Well done! Kind regards, Vincent

David thank you for your visit and comment. I can see where you're coming from, that oof area could put some off. My intention was to show the beach from a different perspective, rather than the usual pretty, colorful scene. See you soon......................Holger

Vincent and Michael, You gentlemen write almost as good as you make images and that is excellent. I enjoyed reading your comments. The b&w conversion was simply less distracting than the color version. Thank you both very much for your comments and continued support. See you soon............Holger

Beautiful unusual shot and title, Holger! I guess you specifically did this trick with a blurred wedge in the picture. I like this feeling of a distorted sky and beach space, plus this gray one. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Thank you Tatiana, I'm so glad you like it. The wide angle lens contributed heavily to this effect, basically I was curious to see what kind of result I would get with this position and that lens, I thought it was interesting enough to share with everyone. See you soon....................Holger
