Street MArket in Aix-en-Provence

I took this shot on a sunny day in french town, did a little work

with PS to gray out the setting, leaving the colors for the scene.

comments please.

I never understood why one should deplete the colors or put color spots into a bw picture...

some things simply don't need an explaination...

as a fan of selective colouring this is very good (and very ambitious !0 Good shot

I'm not a big fan of selective color, but I really like this. I can't say why. That technique usually looks hokey to me, but not this one. Very nice!

I like this one, too! You chose to leave color in the parts where the color benefitted the original shot, and you took the color out of the parts that didn't really need color (for example, the buildings might do better in B&W if shot alone, without street vendors). Good work with photoshop!

Generally, I am not into this technique. With this particular shot, it was such a distinctive natural contrast in coloring scheme, that I intuitively felt for graying out the background.
