frigo 4,155 Posted March 24, 2019 Ken,...Sad scene too often encountered in our large cities:poverty is also very present in our rural areas, but it is not revealed in the same mannerYour use of B/W was the right choice in this excellent reality shot.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment

ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted March 24, 2019 A very good PJ shot, Ken. Interestingly, the sneakers are pointing away from the homeless person. It tells a very good story of avoidance of those much less fortunate Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted March 24, 2019 A slice of life shot, albeit a sad one. It goes on all over the world. Great image Ken, well captured...........BR, Holger Link to comment

michaellinder 16,612 Posted March 25, 2019 Ken, both of your recent photos of homeless people are of very high caliber. You wisely chose to present them in b&w. This one, to me, is slightly more powerful than the other. FYI, my wife and I both volunteer at a local homeless facility, but every time I see a homeless person on the street I feel guilty that we don't do enough. Sadly, our respective countries can do better - much better, to understand the various causes of homelessness and to act accordingly. This image would have a slightly happier mood if it included another person placing some money in the container in front of the homeless person. The other image displays an act of compassion of one person toward another; this one displays no such thing. - - My best, michael Link to comment
Ken Ratcliffe 103,586 Posted March 26, 2019 Michael, thank you for your visit and comments. The homeless problem does seem to be increasing and as you say to understand the reasons why should be given more priority, sadly it's not a perfect world. Best regards Ken. Link to comment
