bruckner 524 Posted February 24, 2019 Like the textures and lines you captured here, nice work Jack. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 24, 2019 at the surface just textures - the delicately balanced geometry and tonality reveal that this is not a casual glance but a concious and deliberate act of seeing Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 25, 2019 Hi Jack, as the skier coming down the slope and zigzags around the dark fir trees, he creates a cloud of snow behind him. That's what the interpreting part of me directly sees in the upper part of you picture. The perceiving part sees three planes with varying degrees of lightness and surface structure , neatly divided by a light and a dark line, creating a pleasant composition. To me, almost every abstract image more or less asks for a mix of these two ways of seeing/understanding. In this case, the order in which I see a skier and a composition with three planes, is determinative. What did you yourself see (first)? Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted March 1, 2019 What a juxtaposed, perplexing yet perfectly understandable. You have gone really beyond...merging a texture that may (or may not) have been captured during Winter. But it does not matter, because you balance this most geometrically interesting portion of something with the title. In most cases, the viewer may dissociate the image from the title. In this case, you pitched at us a fast curve and a spitting ball. Lucky those who can understand a Master. I do feel like it. Arigato gosaimashita. Onegaishi mas. Best personal regards.
