lonebearimages 0 Posted February 10, 2019 Laurent, I don't think I would change one thing about this image. I really like the square format presentation. Strong composition and your black and white conversion is excellent. Bravo! Chris Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted February 10, 2019 This church and the clouds you always manage to find work so symbiotically well its unbelievable. This church, it seems, doesn't have a bad photographic angle!! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted February 10, 2019 Chris..Thank you kindly. This little church is one of my oft-visited spots and I used it to highlight the icy conditions we are having in our area this winter.I went B/W as it re-enforced the icy foreground and I thought the square format suited this well:glad you like!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted February 10, 2019 Warren....Thank you so much. You well know that this little church and our local clouds are my ''bread & butter'' photo subjets and they go well together. If your many travels steer you in this direction someday,I'll willingly share this spot...the church,I can guarantee will be there but you may have to wait a bit for the crowning skies.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted February 10, 2019 Laurent, I never tire of viewing your photographs of this church. This one is no exception. Aside from hints of highlights in the snowbanks, the church's light tones clearly empathize its predominance of the frame. Moreover, the icy ground in front of the church provides both textural and tonal contrasts. Excellent b&w work. - - My best, michael Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted February 10, 2019 Cher Laurent, J'espère que tu vas bien et je te salue avec joie et admiration. Impeccable sharpness, POV and presentation in BW. Insuperable shot of a church, the classic icon, but this one has something "special", je ne se qua....cleanliness, cold, crispness. Bravo!! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted February 10, 2019 [[show-photo-18522238]] Michael..Thank you for the kind observation. The little church always gives me a different attitute, almost like a live model and is a good subject from any angle ....and has been for years.I attach for your perusal another shot from just a few feet away.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted February 10, 2019 Daniel...Merci bien, cher ami pour ces mots d'appréciation.I am glad you detected the harsh/crisp cold of the scene as that is what it has been here lately with just impromptu periods of rain turned almost immediately to ice from the biting cold and high coastal winds which haunt us.That little church in all this seems to retain its warmth and disposition for these shots.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
