michaellinder 16,612 Posted February 7, 2019 Holger, that garbage receptacle must be worth a fortune since it's anchored to a rock by means of a chain. I see a bit of quirky humor in this, something that Jack also might find worthwhile photographing. Sans the garbage can, the image would comprise an outstanding cityscape given the presence of stairs, several walls , and a sidewalk. The garbage can gives it a story. - - - My best always, michael Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 9, 2019 Hi Holger, ZT is quite right about the popularity of trash cans on PN. I like the perspective and detail of this photo and keep wondering who would want to steal this thing :) Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted February 9, 2019 Zt, Vincent thank you very much for your fine comments and taking the time to look. The garbage can is located very close to the Delaware river, and I'm wondering if perhaps they are worried about the river taking it?? ;-) See you soon...............Holger Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 9, 2019 Made me smile, Holger. Chained to a rock like a common criminal or protected from theft because of his great value and capacity for garbage - take your pick. Link to comment

setsail728 15 Posted February 10, 2019 What a great scene! Old beat up garbage can chained to a very artistic shaped rock!! Best way to make something that's not valuable seem valuable is to "secure it" with a chain!!! Nice that you recognized this for a great photo! Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted February 10, 2019 Warren thanks very much for your kind words and taking a look at this image. Not everyday that we get to see something like this.................Holger Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted February 10, 2019 Ha ha ha,,,,someone seems to be worried that someone else might rob the trash...or the can for that matter, sending the message that one can take the contents buy not the container. It reminds me of my business when younger, had a business and really tried to give workers decent toilets, only to find out that the "seats" of the WC kept disappearing repeatedly until I had to give up replacing them.....it seems that only shows the margination some governments have accomplished, while at the same laughing at the poverty that still prevails, while blatant and conspicuous corruption goes on an on.....apparently everywhere.
