Lamp post and roses.

tom_menegatos

Was just running some tmz through the camera to try devloping in rodinal. After some test exposures started just shooting randum stuff. (don't have a bulk loader only had 36 exposure rolls.) I liked the way this turned out :) 100-300 5.6LEI 3200 Rodinal 1:50 12min 68F

This is a slight crop from a 35mm neg. Should I go a little more to

the right or is the cropping good like this? Is this image even

worth spending the time thinking about that?

I like the mood given by the coarse grain but for me the rose right at the lamp post and the roof are too much in competition and viewing doesn't really harmonize with the feel of the pic.

You have some really great potential here. Crop this to include just the rose and lamp. All of the rest is superfluous to the image. Nice grain and tones. Print 10x12 on pearl fibre base paper toned slightly sepia. James

no don't crop it!!! you would lose the composition that drew me in!! It's an excellent image, I love it the way it is, & the rose is not in competition to me, it is just the 'cherry on top' - a bonus

I really just put this up here as an example of what the film looks like under this type of development. Didn't expect people to like it so much. It was actually just shot from my window as soon as I put a new lens on to make sure it focuses and what not :)
