gregverena 342 Posted October 17, 2018 Interestingly, we have a similar looking area not far from here called the Cranberry Glades. Although, your boardwalk is a lot fancier:) - It is one of the southernmost "Alpine" areas in the US because of its unique geography - altitude etc- Beautiful shot! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted October 18, 2018 Greg & Verena...Our marsh also has the cranberries and other little berries which are let grown naturally;commercial intervention on small Miscou Island's marshes is banned both for the cranberries and the peat moss which explains the grants provided for these boardwalks allowing the observation in its natural state. The neigbouring Lamèque Island has both commercial endevours of the peat moss extraction and crandberry farm. The natural state of Miscou Island also makes it a bird parradise where over 200+ species(I forget the claimed #).Glad you like the shot!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
