Jack_Maegli 1 Posted September 1, 2018 Lorelei of Lauterbach (the faery of infidelity) She inhabits the edge of the darkest forests of Germany. A Siren calling to present unspeakable pleasures to the married husbands she predates. Following her into the forest, those that cannot resist the temptation of an interlude find themselves flirted with touch in an intoxicating dance that fills the night spinning into the center of a black land in which she suddenly disappears. After an exhausted and unfulfilled sleep, the victim sorts himself out of the forest the next day only to discover the new land he enters is hundreds of years younger than that he left. His bride has not been born yet and will never know him. Link to comment

setsail728 15 Posted September 2, 2018 Marvelous photo. Why is it that so many fairy tales are so brutal! Look! But don’t touch! Link to comment

Jack_Maegli 1 Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks for the comments guys! Yes, this is not a kind tale I fabricated, but I wanted it to have a loose flavor of the great stories the mid 19th century Grimm Brothers told of the Black Forest. My next post "a sleeping forest dew spread nymph" will be a happier yarn! Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted September 4, 2018 Hauntingly beautiful image, Jack. Lorelei might even enchant me to follow her into the forest. A leap of faith . . . Link to comment
