I am surprised you have no more comments on this great photo. Denotes the neglect and loneliness, but with a very interesting and unique color tonality. I have a personal bias towards BW and I experiment with photos in both color and BW, so I realize, IMHO that your choice was the right one, truly deserving the award you received for this wonderful desolate alley. Bravo! DG

I must have missed this when you first posted it but noticed it when I was looking at pictures of the day. I guess it was the color that confused me since I always think of you as a b&w man. Having said, that, the color adds a lot of flavor to this picture. The scene has a real back alley feeling, slightly run down and a bit dangerous, and evokes memories of great "this is the city" pictures from days gone by. I agree with Daniel's comment above and won't take any more space to bemoan the continuing deterioration of PN and the loss talented photographers like yourself. I hope you'll continue to post now and then, Steve, because there are still some people like Daniel and myself that really appreciate and are inspired by your work. Best regards, Jack

Daniel & Jack -- Thank you for your comments. I had no idea this was selected. I received an email notice related to Jack's comment. Jack -- I do miss talking to you and a number of others on here. I will try to continue to participate. Like you, I won't bemoan the current state of things. I will just try to adjust and figure out a way to get through this website more easily. I think you commented several weeks ago on another photo (don't know if it was mine our yours, Jack) regarding having discussions. I thought I commented that I was in agreement, but I may have had to log off to attend to something else. Anyway, hope to discuss more with you, Daniel, and others.
