it was on a november walk that I came across this scene. The light was magnificent and luckily I didn't need a tripod (I had forgotten to put the quick release plate on to the camera so I couldn't use it). Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, I would cut the leaves. The trunk should not be cut.

The perfect title....for a glorious photograph. It immediately immerses the viewer and he/she can actually experience the aromas of the wood and the muted silence but for the enchanting chanting of birds. You have a jewel here. DG

thank you very much for your friendly comments! The light was just marvelous, I had only the composition and exposure to worry about, which wasn't a problem at all. By the way, you are right about the scene being silent; there were just the 'typical' wood sounds, like little branches falling and gusts of wind through the leaves. Kind regards, Vincent
