Rue de la Levée 26, Cluny

Cluny is a small town in southern France with a great history. Some houses are very old; in this case, the summer evening light accentuated the color and surface of the wall and provided some long shadows. Handheld shot with an Olympus Zuiko 14-54 mm 2.8-

Lovely formalist color image. Sometimes the world around us gives us gifts and all we have to do is capture them. Thanks for being awake enough to do so.

Exceptional colors, light and composition, Vincent. The shadows add dimensionality, especially at the doorway. I love the shadows cast into the louvres. It makes for a bold statement. I'm impressed with the shutter mounting hardware. It appears to be very strong and stable. The texture on the wall creates a very beautiful image, enhanced by the side light. A spectacular image. Best regards, Paul.

Hi Paul,

thanks for your friendly comment and appreciation of my photos. This photo was one of the results of an evening walk through Cluny. I just had to wait for the right light to get all of these textures and shadows; I like the image myself too. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Chris,

thank you for your friendly comment of this photo! I shot it in the last light of the early evening, which made the color come out and created long shadows. Kind regards, Vincent

Very charming image! I've been to France (North & Paris) but never to the South and sure look forward to visit Southern France with such charming scene as this image. The Oly's colors along with warm evening light bring out the texture and shapes well.
