Very dark...maybe just my monitor, but I doubt it, as it is a notebook. Thus the reason for my low rating. I can barely see any detail. Sorry.

I would like to see more detail in the shadows, but I like it! Having been to Georgia, I think it really captures the sometimes otherworldliness of the mountains there.

I would agree with the lack of detail when viewed on the monitor. There is ample shadow information in the print version. I should probably "tweak" these lowlight images for monitor display. The black border probably does not help either. Thanks for your input!!

I really like it.It is dark, but maybe that helps with the vibe at the time of taking the photograph.I really like the mist at the top of the hills.

I agree with Andy. The photo with dark tones not only perfectly captures "the otherworldliness of the mountains in Georgia", but also rough and tough life and the situation there!

This is an intriguing image, not least, because Georgia , formerly Colchis, is where the Golden Fleece lay dormant for years. I mention this not as a point of digression, but because there is an air of mysteriousness given through the depth of tonality in this image. The snaking river, leading to vanishing point reinforces this perspective too.

I tend to visualise balance better in the quadratic format and tend to view landscapes mercilessly. Thus I have carved off the mountainside on the left to filter this image to what I find most inspiring: that depth of mystery so well conveyed here.

I have no objection to Zone II prints when worked with detail. I think this has potential in this image, because the contrast range is so evidently high; an 18% metered reading from the mountains would efface the stark effect, and lead to a washed out appearance. Thus in my revision, I have only used 1% dodging.

Lovely image. I hear Georgia is not the safest place for tourists, but then, maybe one day I'll sneak over in search of another golden fleece.

Kind regards,
