As with portraits of people, they are generally more interesting with a view of the subject's eyes and/or expression. With this view from the side, even back a little, there is no such ability of the viewer to engage with the subject. So, it's just not very interesting. And it is either at a too-low resolution, or not sharp. I suspect the former.

Thanks for the feedback Kurt. This was shot with my iPhone 6. Going forward, I'll be posting photos from my recently acquired Nikon D-200. Yep, I'm a complete noob at photography.

 

I think my blind spot in this one was my attachment to this aging dog. But yeah, a shot capturing his expression and eyes would have been much better. You are right...not much to engage on this.

 

Thanks again! Always looking to get better at this.
