Awesome! Great composition and exposure. My father was a pilot and photographer, I've seen more airplane & glider pictures in flight than you can imagine and this is one of the best I've ever seen.

This kind of pictures are made with the camera fixed with gaffer ( a special tape for photographer) on the top of the wing. You have to be sure about your system. The camera is outside and the wind is such powerfull. You control your camera with a remote control.

Very nice shot!

How safe (or unsafe) is it to play tricks like this with an aircraft? I imagine that adding things to a wing (especially in a wildly assymetric manner, as here) might do surprising things with the aerodynamic properties of the plane? Have you ever stalled on final because the autofocus suddenly decided to rack the lens out another centimetre? :)

In this case I fly with an hi qualified instructor. ( over 2500 hours ) I don't pilot and I get concentrated on the picture. About aerodynamic, I can't say that there is nothing, but the most important in glider like plane it is the speed. You get it and you keep yourself alive. Now you have to be sure about, it is a professional aproach.

Sincerly.

I can't imagine why you didn't go to the hardware store and buy a small 1/4" bolt and a washer so you could've secured the camera to the board. However, all's well that ends well and this ended really well to say the least.
