michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 15, 2017 ZT, I'm curious about your reasons for considering this image " . . . excellent work." I'm having a very difficult time determining whether I should agree with you (or whether I should swing totally in the other direction). - - Thanks, mhl Link to comment
Zbigniew Tyburczy - ZT 6 Posted July 15, 2017 Michael, I really like that image (in my faves now) 'Excellent Work '(in this case) means - meaning of the image-Heart - not a bad idea at all, -model's pose -composition, light , texture - it's interesting too, According to me it's a good and creative work... Tell me what could be improved in that picture or if You think the whole idea is bad etc... ZT, Link to comment
Julie H 312 Posted July 17, 2017 A woman in strait jacket with all pictorial focus on her private parts. What's not to like? <<< [sarcasm] Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted July 18, 2017 I always admire the rim lighting effect. Beyond that it has no emotional pull. I guess it could be a yoga pose but then the leotard is missing. Not bad, not much to ponder on that I can see. I think a POTW deserves something to chew on that I do not observe in the selection. To deserve POTW means more than dessert course is what I am thinking. Too bad. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 18, 2017 ZT, I agree that the model's pose is interesting. I also agree that the image is well done technically. Yet I'm having difficulty finding anything in the image that resembles a story line. Perhaps Peter is trying to convey something about sexuality and a person's being closed off. I'm just not sure. Dale M 1 Posted July 19, 2017 I'm trying to be positive, but this is the most pointless photograph I've seen in a while and I am getting bored of B&W POTWs. I'd actually wager that this particular example would look better in colour. Um, sorry. Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted July 25, 2017 Dale, monochrome says artistic these days. If one sees in color that is just amatoooor. I have commented on the subject, but we are stuck with the fashion here. Link to comment
Robin Smith 811 Posted July 28, 2017 I suspect the eroticism is partly the reason for the negative comments. People often react that way. I like the image and think it technically proficient too. I am not looking for any more profound meanings than that, and I don't think the photographer is either. It's not a portrait: more a female form study, and as such I quite like it. I think black and white serves it well, but I think it would also work in color. Link to comment
