michaellinder 16,613 Posted April 27, 2017 Ronny, I was drawn to this image because of its exceptionally bold contrasts and the abstract appearance of the sky. Is there any chance you can let me know how you created that circular pattern? If so, I'd be grateful. Link to comment
lorenzo 0 Posted April 28, 2017 Thank you, Michael! It's actually quite easy. If you live on the northern hemisphere just point your camera north (or better: towards the North Star) and expose for at least 10 min (you'd get the star trails with shorter exposures but they'd be quite short, too). The image above represents 30 min. Instead of one long exposure you may as well take a series of shorter ones and stack them (e.g.) in photoshop, like I did with this image (60 shots @ 30 s each). There are photoshop plug-ins that facilitate this process (e.g. Advanced Stacker Plus, which I use sometimes). Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks, Ronny. Since I've never attempted an image like this, your response is quite helpful. Link to comment
