I know what you mean. I was in Iceland last month waiting for the Aurora. Well worth the wait!!

Beautiful! There's something particularly striking about the combination of lights here--stars, aurora, lighthouse, city, and reflections; it somehow makes the aurora seem even more real by showing it in a non-exotic context. The other thing that strikes me is that it'd be a stunning photo even without the aurora--the light from and on the lighthouse is magnificent in its own right.
