hkbmac 0 Posted November 4, 2003 I'm not a big fan of splitting the horizon right down the center of the frame. I thin the composition on this shot could be improved by including more of the foreground. Link to comment
wcroninger 0 Posted November 4, 2003 Max, a very nice image. I am not bothered by the dock being directly in the middle, one of the strengths here is symmetry. The boat and weeds in forground break the symmetry enough that I feel you have a very pleasing image. My only criticism is that the sky "bleeds" off the page, particularly in the top right hand corner. I tried the photo first with a narrow black border, then with a PS drop background. Either seems to bring out the scene to a greater extent. JMHO. Nice job! Link to comment
david noone 0 Posted November 5, 2003 Love this photo. I also think there's nothing wrong with splitting the photo in the middle. I would love to see it with a border. Link to comment
jasona1 0 Posted November 5, 2003 Horizon appears to be upper third of image to me. Looks like the rule of thirds was followed. That said the image is very nice and I would never even have looked for the horizon if someone hadn't mentioned it being in the middle. Link to comment
vishwa 0 Posted November 6, 2003 like this image. I like the symmetry of the reflection and its consequence, namely the boat and pier splitting the frame in half. If you had a person looking out from the upstairs patio, it would have been much stronger, not as desolate. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment

brentlossing 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Wonderful tonal range - I like the detail in the shadow and even just barely some sort of horizon above the dock. Very clearly presented. Link to comment
