Mike, thanks for commenting! The birds are slowly but steadily coming back from warm places and taking over the city. The shot indeed looks a bit like something from Poe's novels.

Gregory, Verena, Don! Thank you for your feedback. The aim for this small street-assignment was to catch as much elements as possible into the frame to create a somewhat absurd-near-chaotic mood.

I'm thoroughly enjoying how the strong composition here makes so much sense of the "absurd-near-chaotic mood." The foreground curve and those wonderful birds so beautifully contain the chaos of angles and colors and patterns, and the street lamp is perfectly placed to allow the foreground wall to hold its own against the background chaos. And how you got the birds to cooperate like that is beyond me--they are perfectly placed!

Nicely composed with a wonderful balance of tones.
