This has kind of a melancholy, "end of civilization as we know it vibe". In other words, pretty much a mirror of the current state of affairs. I'm not sure if the red flowers are part of the mural or the foreground foliage. Perhaps that's for the best, allowing them to serve as an ambiguous mediator between reality and painted image.

Thank you Jack and Drew for your comments. The flowers are part of the mural. The mediator between reality and the painted image is in my view the ravages of time. As you can see there is a damage in the painting in the middle from the top to the bottom caused by water. The child (future, hope and life) is threatened. It is rather alarming.
