The selective vignette works very well here to create an atmosphere of mystery, even magic. Brilliant use of light and shadow to tell your tale.

The snow and fog are indeed mystical but it's the solid foreground tree and that wonderful walking log that anchor the composition... Mike

Hi David. As Jack has already said (he always seems to get there first) Great use of light and shadow making for a very magical Winter Wonderland. Wishing you a very Happy & Inspired New year and looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful work.

Best wishes. Sarah.

Hi Jack, and thanks!  I did not use a vignette here though - the woods were naturally dark, except for the ground fog flowing in from the right.

Thanks also Mike.  If I tried crossing that snow covered log - I'm afraid there would be a huge and unpleasant splash in store . . .

Thanks Sarah.  Good to hear from you, and best wishes for a happy and creative 2017.

David
