Wow, Currier & Ives would have a hard time beating this image.  The street lamp and homes add a warmth that overcomes the wintry conditions.  Really good stuff... Mike

Again a masterful use of light which, along with the diagonal road, creates a remarkable sense of depth. This is very nice work, Tony, right there with your best.

Tony,  Yes, winter has come; looks like time to head for the Caribe.  I agree that Courier and Ives would have trouble  beating this image.  Great shot.  I like its simplicity and universal reality.  Larry

Eystein, Donna, Wayne, MLM(Mike), Patsy, Emmanuel, Jim, Kamala, Larry, Radu and Maurizio  many thanks for your visits and kind words.

Candiac is a small town where most people own a dog and ideally I would have wanted someone walking their dog under that light but on that night, this was not the case. This is not far from where I live so I could revisit and see if I get lucky. The problem with hanging around a street corner in a winter jacket with a hood  on a frosty night is that your equipment (camera) could malfunction due to the cold and someone might think I look 'suspicious".

MLM(Mike) and Larry - thanks for comparing this image to one by Courier and Ives but I think I still have a ways to go.

Larry - I still need to get some winter shots before thinking about the Caribbean.  I have a few friends from Montreal who are cruising and frolicking in the Caribbean right now. Last night I received photos from one of them doing a catamaran one day tour in Grenada.  She had a glass of rum punch in one hand and snorkel equipment in the other hand. That is quite a comparison to the very cold weather (-26 with the wind chill factor) I am experiencing since yesterday.

Jim Steane - it has been a while and hope all is well.

I will be popping by to see what is new with your photography
