While traveling in NY state came across this well maintained barn.

Image taken in 2009 and a sign stated the barn being 100 years old.

Thanks for looking and all comments or ratings are most welcome.

Immaculate is exactly the right word to describe not only the barn but the picture in general. Everything is precisely ordered in a peacefully bucolic setting. The barn itself looks like something out of a fairy tale or a a Bruegel painting.

Holger,

this was a great find.  Your title fits perfectly and this is very well done in b/w.  I like this, but we don't have this kind of barn in Texas.

I like the simplicity of this piece, nothing fancy, an architectural image converted to B/W, well done my friend

It would be interesting to see what is in those windows- - - - -

Not to get all religious on you, but imagine if the immaculate conception took place in the immaculate barn. But, ah, the conception took place at home. It was the delivery that took place in a barn.

Immaculate barn ! when I first looked at this I thought it was an immaculate house. Super B&W capture, nice light and tones, the composition is classic. Very good Holger worth a 6. Best regards Ken.

As if built on a slope, the foundation looks pretty solid, this immaculate beautiful barn that is very well maintained.  Promising another century of peace and beauty.  Great interesting shot Holger!

This is what we call a "Dutch Barn" in the UK although I don't know if it relates to anything from Holland at all.

This is certainly a pristine example, and you gauged have the sharpness and exposure perfectly!  And the angle shows off the building to its best advantage too!

I wonder if this is a conversion to living accommodation, this seems to be a very popular trend in the UK.

Very well done Holger!

Best Regards

Holger, fabulous capture, the great details, excellent exposure balance between light & shadows, smooth contrast, and nice tonality, composition which makes amazing results!      Best regards 6.

This barn is interesting, with its strange shape, I suppose it is because it is more than 100 years old. Nice picture!

Kind Regards,

rosario.

Mike, Sorry in responding so late to your holiday wishes, I certainly wish you and yours the same. I'm just starting to get back in form from an extended illness over the holidays, pneumonia put me in the hospital for a week and I'm still not 100% but I will certainly visit your wonderful images soon. Thanks again old friend.

Best Always, Holger

I hope you are starting to feel much better Holger.  I've had Pneumonia and it is not pleasant at all. However I have never been in Hospital with it.  Not a way to spend the Holidays.  I am just glad you are getting your 'sea legs back' but it sure ravages your body between the coughing and exhaustion. Just think.......it is almost February!!  This is truly a beautiful barn. I don't know of many Immaculate Barns but it is making me think of neighbors who have lovely homes, 2 car garages...and they NEVER use them - and they are IMMACULATE - strange to me to keep a new car out in the 'weather' in order to have a 'Pristine' garage. Oh well - we all think differently. Alf talked about it being a Dutch Barn and that does seem probable. Lovely construction. I do like this image. The lovely trees that surround it and the sky add the finishing touches. It would make a very large and interesting 'home' :)
