Great composition and DOF. The glasses tell a story too,  its like their owner didn't need them to enjoy the view during a few moments of quiet contemplation.

Very well done Holger

This image hold many interpretations for the viewer, read into it what you will.

I like the visual interpretation of lines, many lines leading us left to right, right to left, follow though the image and continue back, nicely done

Holger. Very good, so well spotted and taken. Nicely composed, this tells a story and is so interesting, love the monochrome which adds to the mood and effect. Best regards Ken.

Another great photo, very nostalgic in my opinion .Blurred background. Looks good in B/W.

What bothers me is the sign on left bottom corner 'WOME'...

But like I always say - It's just me...

Best regards,

Thanks Steph, yup he's just taken a breather before running up and down the beach, hey this is NY, not Philly.

Love it!   love all of those horizontal lines and the long shadowed light. Despite his clothes which indicates that it is cold day, I would want to sit where he is sitting.

The lines and shadows on the ground also attract my attention and I would have been looking for a 2nd shot with more prominence given to the ground.

All the best,

Holger,

There's something here that makes me feel an unusual intensity... there's surely a nostalgic mood, but there's something on the character that comes to me as having a deep reflection on him. Great image.

First and foremost a belated Happy New Year to you and yours.  Sorry I haven't visited for a while.

It took these tired old eyes a while to spot the glasses.  Once I found them, it was like the entire world presented here opened up.  To me, the glasses comprise the key element in this image.  Clearly that's due to your craft and your creativity, especially in composing (and possibly cropping) the shot.  Monochrome certainly was the right choice.

My best,

michael

Michael, A belated Happy New Year to you as well. No need for apologies. Thank you for the very kind words and your wonderful assessment of my image. I have not been on PN for about 5-6 weeks due to illness over the holidays (pneumonia) and I'm just getting back into the PN scene. Thanks again and see you soon.
