PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 2, 2016 Gljúfrabúi is a small waterfall hidden in its own canyon. It islocated near the more famous Seljalandsfoss. Your opinions andsuggestions for improvement are welcomed. Link to comment
bruckner 524 Posted December 2, 2016 Nice composition, but I find the effect of lens flare distracting, it's taking away the point of interest. Link to comment
victorwei 0 Posted December 2, 2016 A masterpiece. Love the out-of-focus water drops in the foreground. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 2, 2016 Thank you for your comments, George and Victor! It is a difficult task to keep the droplets away from the lens. The waterfall creates a fine spray of water that lands on the lens. I wiped the lens between exposures to no avail. If you have a suggestion that would resolve the issue, I shall be happy to know. I was hesitant about posting the image, but finally decided that this way the wet atmosphere of the canyon was conveyed. Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted December 4, 2016 Peter, This image is superb, perfect movement and exposure in the water. I like the diagonal line. What are the gray oval objects above the falls? Are these some kind of light spots? What is the magenta line at the top of the falls? Could this be chromatic aberration? Terrific image. Larry Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 4, 2016 Hi Larry, the objects are drops of water on the lens, that I found unavoidable, wiping my lens after each exposure. This was the first time I was in such a challenging situation with water spray all around. There must be some way, likely just staying there longer and choosing shorter exposures at a higher ISO for the rocks. The magenta line is indeed a result of chromatic aberration, I see it with this lens sometimes. I attach a quick fix. Thank you for pointing this out. Peter Link to comment
