Thanks. For what it is worth, since I recently downloaded the Nik collection, I have been using their HDR software more than photomatix. I have not had the chance to explore their other software as yet. 

Hi Alf. I really love the serene quality to this image but you have still managed to get a sense of movement to the sky which is cleverly done. The overall blue tonality works really well and ties in with the main point of focus which is the little blue boat in the foreground. Lovely work as usual! Best wishes. Sarah.

Yes. I too have been using the NIK HDR software more than photomatix, in fact I gave up using photomatix quite some time ago because of its limitations. But I can thoroughly recommend the NIK B & W convertor too, well worth exploring!

 To be honest Sarah I really can't take any credit for that sky! Usually a long exposure might get similar results, but in this case it was simply there in front of me and all I had to was capture it whilst at the same time trying to make the water softer and without too much movement of the boats : )

I agree with Tony regarding the mast.  In my opinion, its slight blur does not materially affect the overall quality of this image.  Besides, it seems to me that your use of a 1/2 second exposure contributed to the amazing fingerlike blue streaks in the sky.  The two red docks bumpers (not totally sure what they're called) not only provide color contrast but also additional interest - as if the rest of the image isn't interesting enough.

Yet another example of a keen eye for composition as well as excellent technical skills! The use of a slow shutter speed has brought out great drama in the sky along with beautiful light. Well done my friend Alf!

I wasn't sure whether to remove the mast altogether?...or try and repair the slight blur.  But overall I'm quite happy with it. The blue streaks in the sky were actually just there, but it was the water I was trying to soften slightly with the slow exposure.  Thanks again Michael.

I have been following your work for quite sometime and has been absolutely inspiring.

This image isnno exception. You have managed to create motion in a motionless scene and that is the work of an experienced craftsman.
