I like the classic and timeless feel to this shot.  I'm also struck by how tall that dude is on the right.... Mike

Holger,  I like this beautiful scene in Brooklyn Avenue.  Sunny and peaceful with that lady relaxing in the shade. Nice composition.

Great contrasts in this image, dark and peaceful on the left, bright and full of life on the right. This gives a nicely balanced interesting capture, like this lots. Best regards Ken.

I love this shot.  With the aid of your processing, it reminds me of an older image, the lady coming your way I can tell is smiling - I like the mood of the shot - especially in today's 'climate'. We need all the carefree images we can see that cause us our mouths to turn up at the side into what we have always known as a smile - hoping we are able to do that for some years to come. Very good eye Holger when you chose this POV and Processing!

Wow, Thank you all for all the great comments and taking the time to look. The heart of this image was the lady sitting pretty in the shade and just watching the world go by.....sipping her drink. See you soon.

An excellent street image. Congrats

My 2nd image would have been just the left side. Since you cannot repeat this now, I would do a portrait crop and eliminate the right half.

All the best,

You are right Holger - I did notice her first and don't know why I didn't mention her - she really is the 'heart' of the image as you have stated.  I couldn't help drift over to the people on the boardwalk - have always wanted to see a long stretch of boardwalk like this - taking in all the sights - but My desires are not part of this composition. The woman and the shelter 'ground' the composition.  I'm glad I came back to see what you had to say.

Tony, Gail and Mehmet Thanks for the look and write. Gail in your case the follow up comment speaks volumes to me and shows me what a supportive person you are. You have my eternal gratitude.

Tony while I like your idea of the crop as a stand alone image, I would not do it here because it would eliminate the world she is watching go by and that is what I wanted viewers to see. You are always helpful and very informative with your comments and I appreciate them greatly my friend. See you soon.

Holger,  You have my vote on this image as well.  Tony's observation about the woman in quiet at the left is right on.  The contrast between the action on the boardwalk and the woman clinches the image.  I have heard about the Brooklyn pier (Coney Island?) but have not been there, so this image is educational for me.  This is an excellent street or boardwalk shot.  It reminds me of many of John Loengard's images and classic B&W images of other Life photographers.  You are in great company here.  Larry

Wow Larry that's quite a compliment, I am humbled and honored my friend. By the way this image was taken on Brooklyn Ave. on the boardwalk in Rehoboth, Delaware. But it could be literally anywhere. It's definitely all about the lady....sitting pretty and watching the world go by. Thank you again for your very good observant comment. See you soon.

The silhouetted profile of woman in the foreground makes this a very intriguing image Holger with excellent use of lines, shapes and shadow!
