Really nice! I've tried doing a photo like this and had a very hard time getting the depth of field wide enough to keep the whole trunk in focus--you've done a great job with it. And not only does the detail in the bark show up beautifully, it forms such intriguing patterns that it keeps my interest effortlessly. I also had a lot of trouble balancing the exposure between trunk, foliage, and sky, and you've handled that nicely, too. There are a few places where the tones in the sky are uneven, but I'm perfectly happy reading that as clouds--everything works together very well here, and what a magnificent tree.

Not only the angle up against the stark roughness of this tree, but the post processing to emphasize the texture of the bark and the suggestion of power and abundance is what struck me and captivates my attention.

An impressive presence, almost intimidating. It sure does make you feel small as it towers over you. This is how I picture an Ent, those ancient animated trees from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
