Shoe shine. Quito, Ecuador.

I worked in the leather industry, everyday me and my colleagues would shine our shoes, a tradition that I still keep. People say, "who looks at your feet" I do and I respect a man or woman that has  a nice shine on their kicks

I really like your picture. It is a very sensitive reproduction of a situation that is full of symbolism. And you handled it so well. The bw is the right choice. I would like to ask, if you tried to make a square version?

Tommy, thank you for the kind words. I did not try a square crop, good suggestion. I thought the texture on the wall on either side of the people added to the feeling of the shot. I appreciate your comments.
