30 sec at f22. No flash just a light bulb for about 2 sec (this was done at night)then hand 'painted' with a flash-light for remaining 28 sec.

This is something a friend showed me how to do(paint with light). I

have not worked with still-lifes much and could use some pointers.

If this is your first attempt at still life photography, then I can see you having a wonderful career of it. This image captures a wonferfully warm, hearthy emotion. The flashlight "painting" technique was masterfully executed. Very nice.

A third item such as another pot or other indian artifact between the two pots would have really improved this shot. Odd numbers tend to look better than even. Still, it is a very pleasing picture.

Did you intend for the white rim of the 2nd pot to stand out so much from the rest of the shot?

It's a great start but you may want to think about redoing it with less subject contrast.

Try a blue photoflood bounced off an umbrella (don't get too close!)

Micrometer different parts of the scene to see that the relative brightness is what you want it to be.
